• Έχει ειδικό ενδιαφέρον στην απεικόνιση του μαστού.
• Απέκτησε το πτυχίο ιατρικής το 2006 και έχει πλήρη άδεια εξασκήσεως Ιατρικής από το General Medical Council Η.Β. μετά την απαραίτητη άσκηση (Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trusts) και τον Ιατρικό Σύλλογο Κύπρου.
• Συνέχισε τις σπουδές της με διδακτορική μελέτη με υποτροφία από το Samantha Dickson Brain Tumour Trust, στο Τμήμα Καρκινικών Επιστημών του Πανεπιστημίου του Μπέρμινγχαμ.
• Η Δρ. Ορφανίδου έπειτα ειδικεύθηκε στην Ακτινολογία στο Γενικό Νοσοκομείο Λευκωσίας και απέκτησε τον τίτλο του Ακτινοδιαγνώστη μετά από επιτυχείς εξετάσεις στο Νοσοκομείο ΑΧΕΠΑ της Θεσσαλονίκης (Περιφέρεια Κεντρικής Μακεδονίας).
• Συμμετέχει ενεργά στην έρευνα και διδασκαλία για πάνω από 10 έτη.
• Ασκεί την ειδικότητα της Ακτινολογίας στο ιατρείο της στο EIMC CLINICS STROVOLOS (ιατρείο υπερήχων και υπερηχογραφικά καθοδηγούμενων βιοψιών), και συνεργάζεται με άλλα ακτινοδιαγνωστικά κέντρα όπου γνωματεύει μαστογραφίες, αξονικές τομογραφίες, ακτινογραφίες και DEXA.
• Είναι συνεργάτης του Ογκολογικού Κέντρου της Τράπεζας Κύπρου, όπου λαμβάνει μέρος στα πολυθεματικά συμβούλια για τον καρκίνο του μαστού.
• Ασχολείται ερευνητικά με τον καρκίνο του μαστού σε συνεργασία με το Πανεπιστήμιο Κύπρου.

Dr Ilias Porfyridis, born in 1975, was specialized in Pulmonology at the 1st Department of Critical Care and Pulmonary Services, The University of Athens, in 2009 and received his PhD in 2011. He specializes in advanced diagnostic and therapeutic interventional pulmonology (IP) approaches and techniques. For 12 years he was a consultant at the Pulmonary Department of Nicosia General Hospital and head of the Interventional Pulmonary Unit. He contributed to European Respiratory Society (ERS) courses as an instructor in IP techniques. He is a member of the Cypriot and Hellenic Respiratory Societies, the ERS, the World Association of Bronchology and Interventional Pneumonology and national delegate of Cyprus at the European Association of Bronchology and Interventional Pneumonology. He does research in the field of IP and has several publications in international medical journals and announcements in international medical congresses.
