Dr. Orphanidou Vlachou


• Dr. Orphanidou Vlachou is a Radiologist with a medical degree and PhD (Cancer Sciences) from the University of Birmingham U.K.
• She has a special interest in breast imaging.
• She completed her medical degree at the University of Birmingham U.K. in 2006, and gained full registration with the General Medical Council after the required practice (Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trusts) and Cyprus Medical Council.
• She continued her studies with a PhD at the Department of Cancer Sciences at the University of Birmingham, which was funded by a scholarship from the Samantha Dickson Brain Tumour Trust.
• Dr. Orphanidou Vlachou then specialised in Radiology at Nicosia General Hospital, acquiring the speciality title after successful examination at AHEPA Hospital Thessaloniki (Perifereia Kentrikis Macedonias).
• She has been involved in teaching and research for over 10 years.
• She is practising as a Radiologist with a special interest in Breast Imaging at EIMC Clinics Strovolos (ultrasound and ultrasound guided biopsies) and collaborates with other Diagnostic Centres where she reports mammograms, Computed Tomography scans, Xrays and DEXA.
• She is an external collaborator of Bank of Cyprus Oncology Centre, where she participates in the breast cancer MDT meetings.
• She is involved in breast cancer research in collaboration with the University of Cyprus.

DR. Lambrou Sofoklis


Dr Sofoklis Lambrou studied at Pavlov First Saint Petersburg State Medical University, Russia. After his first degree, he worked in Larnaca General Hospital and Lito Private Hospital until he went to Sweden to do his Specialty in Psychiatry in Stockholm, Sweden. During the time he was doing his specialty, he received his Diploma in psychotherapy “Cognitive behavioral therapy” at Psykologpartners in Stockholm. Once he was granted his specialty as a consultant in Psychiatry, he worked in Stockholm for 8 years.

DR. Kontozis Louis


Dr. Louis Kontozis studied at Friedrich-Wilhelms University of Bonn, Germany and did his specialty training at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa. He is a Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology. He has a special interest in heart failure, coronary artery disease (CAD), valvular disease, atrial fibrillation and hypertension.

DR. Ilias Porfyridis


Dr Ilias Porfyridis, born in 1975, was specialized in Pulmonology at the 1st Department of Critical Care and Pulmonary Services, The University of Athens, in 2009 and received his PhD in 2011. He specializes in advanced diagnostic and therapeutic interventional pulmonology (IP) approaches and techniques. For 12 years he was a consultant at the Pulmonary Department of Nicosia General Hospital and head of the Interventional Pulmonary Unit. He contributed to European Respiratory Society (ERS) courses as an instructor in IP techniques. He is a member of the Cypriot and Hellenic Respiratory Societies, the ERS, the World Association of Bronchology and Interventional Pneumonology and national delegate of Cyprus at the European Association of Bronchology and Interventional Pneumonology. He does research in the field of IP and has several publications in international medical journals and announcements in international medical congresses.

DR. Apostolos Fountas


Dr Apostolos Fountas graduated from Varna University Medical School. He has a specialty in orthopedic surgeon and Traumatology, and he worked in various hospitals in Greece including military hospital of Athens General Hospital of Piraeus and the pediatric Hospital of Athens. He also worked in the University Orthopedic Clinic of the University of Alexandroupolis and holds the title of instructor of conservative treatment of scoliosis and congenital spinal diseases.

Dr George Z. Subsequently worked as a Consultant Specialist Physician / Infectious Diseases & Head of HIV – Special Infections Unit, Penteli General Hospital, Athens. Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor (elected) of Internal Medicine & Infectious Diseases at the University of Patras School of Medicine, Patras University General Hospital. Served as Senior Registrar – Junior Consultant at the Dept. of Infection & Tropical Medicine, Birmingham Heartlands Hospital, UK and as Clinical Research Fellow at Chelsea & Westminster Hospital, St. Stephen’s Centre, London. Participated in numerous national & international multicenter studies as principal investigator and participates in more than 139 publications listed on pubmed; has authored several medical manuals and wrote chapters in books. Participates as Editorial panel and is a reviewer for a number of medical and biomedical engineering journals and is involved in the creation of a global electronic Health Record (eHR). Has served, as the Medical Doctor, for the Cyprus Olympic Team 2020, Tokyo, Japan.

Dr. Stelios Orphanides


EDUCATION:

Dr. Stelios Orphanides graduated from the Medical University of Malta in 2006. He then returned to Cyprus, where he received a license to practice.

He moved to Sweden where he completed his specialty in Geriatrics at the Södra Älvsborg Hospital. During his training he worked regularly at the Osteoporosis Clinic and was successful in the ISCD (International Society of Clinical Densitometry) exams thus obtaining the title of CCD (Certified Clinical Densitometrist) which allows him to investigate and accurately interpret radiology findings and then recommend the appropriate treatment for Osteoporosis. Dr. Orphanides also holds an MSc in Dementia from the University Hospital Karolinska in Sweden and has been awarded the title of ‘Silvialäkare’ (Doctor of Queen Sylvia of Sweden) which is the highest title awarded for work done in the field of dementia in Sweden.

SPECIALIZATION:

Dr. Stelios Orphanides (MD, MSc, CCD) is a Senior Consultant in Geriatrics in Sweden and specializes in the field of geriatrics and specifically in Dementia and Osteoporosis. He is the head of the Memory Clinic in the Älvsborg district of Southern Sweden.

 EXPERIENCE:

After completing his specialty, he was promoted to Senior Consultant in Geriatrics and was appointed Head of the Memory Clinic where he performed specialized research of dementia disorders for the area of Södra Älvsborg in Southern Sweden. He also worked as a Geriatric Caregiver in geriatric medical centers and was also responsible for providing specialized home medical care for elderly patients. Dr. Stelios Orphanides can offer specialized research for dementia and osteoporosis, as well as advice for elderly patients.

Dr. Stephanie Soteriadou


Dr. Stephanie Soteriadou is a Consultant in Gastroenterology and General Internal Medicine.

She graduated with a medical degree from the University of Manchester in 2006. She completed all her training in the U.K and worked there as a Consultant in the NHS.

She has vast experience in dealing with gastroenterology related conditions which include Endoscopy (Diagnostic and Therapeutic Gastroscopy and Colonoscopy), Luminal (such as Inflammatory bowel disease such as Crohn’s and Ulcerative Colitis, Irritable bowel Syndrome, Coeliac disease etc.) and Hepatology.

Dr Soteriadou believes in research and has been involved in several projects. She has presented her work in National and International conferences and is a published author. She believes in the importance of continuing medical education and attends conferences and online conferences to ensure she keeps up with the latest guidelines.

Throughout her career she has been involved in teaching and education and was the Training and Education Lead in her previous job. She has taught and has been an examiner of doctors, medical students, and allied health professionals.

Dr Soteriadou is a Member of the PanCyprian Medical Association, Cypriot & British Society of Gastroenterology, Royal College of Physicians, and the General Medical Council.
